Multiplier Slots
A multiplier makes a win bigger once it has formed. In Gates of Olympus Zeus hands them out himself, as winged orbs worth up to 500x.

The multiplied win
A multiplier is a number that rides on a symbol, on a wild or on the round itself. When it lands on a spin that pays, your win is multiplied by it, so a 10x multiplier turns a $2 win into $20. On a spin that pays nothing it does nothing at all. The number needs a win to work on.
Games differ in what they do with several at once. Most Olympus games add the values together, while Cats of Olympuss multiplies its wild multipliers by each other. Some reset after every spin, and others keep a running total through the whole bonus. The published RTP of each game already counts every multiplier it can show you. A multiplier changes the shape of a win, not the percentage.
The gods at work
Now, the theme earns its place when the god does the multiplying. In Gates of Olympus Zeus hovers to the right of the grid, and Pragmatic Play’s launch news gives him the power to set the multipliers off at random. They come down as coloured orbs on small gold wings with the value written across the middle, from 2x to 500x. In Gates of Olympus 1000 he strikes with his thunderbolt to hand them out, and the values run to 1,000x. This Zeus works for his wage.
Rise of Olympus 1000 turns the 3 brothers into the multiplier itself. Every multiplier lands as Hades. It can rise to Poseidon and on to Zeus, over 15 rungs that run from 2x up to 1,000x. On the demo’s intro screen they’re dark purple discs in gold laurel wreaths. Zeus stands beside the grid on a floating rock with his arms folded. Here the whole family does the work.
Hades gets smaller jobs elsewhere. His mini slot in Olympus 7s Dream Drop lifts a win by a random factor between 1 and 10, and in Take Olympus his 10-spin reign builds a multiplier for the last spin of his cycle. In Power of Olympus Zeus only looks down from above the title, and the multipliers come with the wilds a cluster win leaves behind. There the god has no hand in it.
The running total
The other difference is memory. In the free spins of the Gates of Olympus games every multiplier that lands with a win goes on the tab, and the tab only grows. The whole tab is applied to that win. Olympus Wins keeps a shorter count inside one spin, 2x, then 3x, then 5x as the tumbles follow each other, and it starts again from nothing on your next spin. In its bonus the count opens at 2x and climbs as far as 10x.
Goals of Olympus BoltLock sets no limit at all. Once its grid is fully open, a global multiplier climbs for as long as the feature lasts, and Yggdrasil gives it no upper figure. The game’s cap still stops any win at 5,800x the stake. A limitless multiplier still meets the cap.
The carrier games
Gates of Olympus prints 96.50% and caps a win at 5,000x, with orbs from 2x to 500x. Gates of Olympus 2500 pushes its multipliers up to 2,500x with a 25,000x cap, and Pragmatic Play’s page prints 96.51%. Rise of Olympus 1000 runs at 96.24% on its best version and caps the game at 60,000x. Its multipliers in one round stop adding up at 3,013x. Olympus Wins carries a 100,000x cap at 96.50%. BoltLock tops out at 94.00%.
Mind you, a bigger multiplier doesn’t make a game return more. The 2021 game and the 1000 both print 96.50%, though one stops at 500x and the other at 1,000x. Pragmatic Play marks the first medium volatility on its intro screen and the 1000 high. You’ll find the percentage in the rules, not on the orb.
The regulars’ sums
On the slot floor the regulars did multiplier sums in their heads before the reels stopped. One of them told me his machine was “due” a big multiplier after a run of 2x and 3x, and he sat through the evening waiting for it. The machine didn’t keep a ledger of what it had shown him. A multiplier owes nothing to your next spin.
Each RTP and cap above is the studio’s published figure for that game. How the Reviews Work names the 2 places the site reads them from.
