Responsible Gambling
Slots are entertainment you pay for. The published return of every game on this site sits under 100%, so over a long run each one keeps part of what goes in. Money set aside for a night out is the only money a slot should ever see. The demos here cost nothing at all.
The house rules
- The games are for adults only, 18 and over, and older where the law says so.
- Decide the budget before the first spin, and pick the stake from the budget. Stop when the money is spent, not when a feeling says to.
- Decide the time as well. A demo has no clock and no bill, and real play needs both.
- Never chase. No game is ever “due”, and the spin after a loss knows nothing about the loss.
- A slot fixes no money trouble, no bad day and no boredom.
The warning signs
The signs are the same on a slot floor and on a screen. Play that is hidden from the people close to you is one sign. Money meant for rent or food is another, and so is borrowing to play, or a stop that no longer comes when the budget is spent. Any one of them is a reason to step back and talk to someone.
The help lines
- Free online support worldwide, in several languages, comes from Gambling Therapy.
- Meetings with people who have been through it are listed by Gamblers Anonymous for dozens of countries.
- The South African Responsible Gambling Foundation runs a free counselling line in South Africa.
Most countries list a help line of their own, and the services above point to it.
