The side door
Yggdrasil comes at Olympus from the side. Vikings Go To Olympus, out on 24 April 2025, sends the studio’s Norse raiders up the mountain to fight the gods. The Vikings are Yggdrasil’s flagship series by its own launch news. Goals of Olympus BoltLock followed on 9 July 2026 and moves the gods into a stadium. Neither game borrows the Gates of Olympus pattern.
The gods as rivals
The Vikings game paints Olympus as a storm. Zeus and Poseidon fill the intro screen side by side against an orange sky cracked by lightning, Zeus with fire in his eyes and Poseidon in a cold blue glow. Behind the reels a rocky island carries a white temple above a green sea full of white breakers.
Here the gods are the opposition, and you have to take the wilds off them. In the base game one scatter is enough to start a Wild Fight Respin with Poseidon. Each Viking who beats him turns into a sticky wild. During the free spins the Vikings take on Zeus instead, on every spin and on Mount Olympus itself. Every fresh sticky wild there lifts the multipliers of the ones before it by 1. In my book a god you have to beat still counts as a god at work.
The gods in kit
BoltLock swaps the storm for an old stone stadium with ivy on its stands and a striped green pitch. Zeus keeps his laurel wreath, wears a yellow and red football kit and spins a ball on one finger. A crowned god with a long dark beard stands next to him in purple and pale blue.
Neither god takes part in the play. Each winning combination breaks some of the BoltLock blocks that cover the grid, and every win brings a respin. Once the grid is open, a multiplier with no upper limit and the extra lives take over. You won’t find a god’s hand in any of it. The 2 gods only stand in for a team photo, and a kit doesn’t make a player.
The printed versions
Yggdrasil prints more than one RTP on each game page. The Vikings game carries 96.00% and 90.50%. BoltLock carries 94.00%, 92.00% and 90.50%, with no version at 96%, so its best figure sits 2 points under the Vikings game’s best. Both pages were read on 30 September 2026.
Now, the gap between the highest and the lowest figure is 5.50 points on the Vikings game and 3.50 on BoltLock. The art and the fights you see stay the same across the versions. It’s only the percentage that moves.
The other numbers
Yggdrasil rates both games medium-high on its pages, and the Vikings intro screen lights 4 of its 5 volatility marks. Stakes run from $0.10 to $100 on both. The biggest win is 6,000x on Vikings Go To Olympus and 5,800x on BoltLock. BoltLock has no free spins and nothing for sale, while Yggdrasil’s news mentions a Buy Bonus for the Vikings free spins without printing a price.
Start with the Vikings game if you want gods who matter on the reels. How the Reviews Work explains why a god who only poses costs a game half a point. The Vikings earn their wilds.
