Olympus Slots with Jackpots
A jackpot is a prize set apart from the paytable, fixed or growing. In Olympus Trueways the Mega stays locked until scatters charge the bolt in Zeus's hand.
The prize apart
A jackpot is a prize that sits outside the ordinary paytable. Some are fixed at a multiple of your stake, and some grow with every bet until one of them drops. They are paid for out of the same stakes as everything else. A jackpot is part of the price, not a gift on top.
Now, only one Olympus game here prints that price. BGaming gives Olympus Trueways 96.70% with the jackpots in and 96.23% with them out, so the jackpots carry 0.47 points of the return. Both numbers belong to the same game, not to 2 versions of it. The jackpot is a slice you’re already paying for.
The god with the key
In Olympus Trueways the god holds the top jackpot. Special coins in the Coin Respin hand out the Mini and the Major. The Mega needs all 48 places of that feature filled with coins, and it stays shut until scatters have charged the lightning bolt Zeus holds. The Mega is worth 1,000x the stake on BGaming’s page. Here the god does real work.
Gates of Olympus POP sets a cartoon Zeus on a golden throne among heaps of coins and an open treasure chest. Its 3 jackpots are fixed. 1 to 3 super scatters in a combination that opens the free spins pay the Snap at 50x, the Spark at 500x or the Burst at 25,000x. The Burst is also the game’s cap.
The Dream Drop
Olympus 7s Dream Drop gives each mini slot a progressive jackpot of its own. The Rapid belongs to Athena’s slot, the Midi to Hades and the Maxi to Zeus, while Hermes runs the Daily and the Feud and Olympus slots carry the Major and the Mega. Relax Gaming’s page lets the Mega climb as far as 2 million euros. By the rules the Major has to fall before it passes 50,000 euros, and the Daily drops 3 times every day. On the intro screen the Mega and the Major each carry a line saying when they will be won.
Mind you, the rules set aside 12% of each bet to feed the 6 jackpots, and they don’t say whether the 94.00% counts that share. They also say a higher bet raises the chance of a jackpot, and that none can be won in the demo. A drop line can say when a jackpot falls. It can’t tell you whose spin it will be.
The carrier games
POP prints 96.54% on Pragmatic Play’s page and 97.05% in its demo rules, with the Burst as its 25,000x cap. Olympus Trueways caps a win at 5,000x. Relax Gaming’s rules for 7s Dream Drop give 94.00%, and its release news names 13,000x the stake as the most the game pays, without saying if a jackpot counts towards it. A jackpot doesn’t make your game better by itself.
The hand pay
On the slot floor a jackpot stopped the room. Floor staff came over with the paperwork for the hand pay, the regulars gathered round, and for the rest of the night every machine in that bank was “hot”. The next morning’s figures showed the same machines keeping the same share. A jackpot changes the night, not the machine.
Jackpot figures here come from the studios’ pages and rules, never from the counters in a demo, in line with How the Reviews Work.
